The Weather in Cambodia

Cambodia has a tropical climate, hot and humid, with a lush vegetation. There are two distinct seasons : the dry season, from november to may and the rainy season between june and october.

Visitors may find the dry season more cool to visit Cambodia. Between December and March, there are almost no rains. The temperature can go down to 15°C / 59°F. which is cold for Cambodians. But the dry season is also the hottest. In April, the temperature is around 40°C/104°F. An ideal climate for beach activities. It is also the best season to sail out on the Gulf of Thailand, to make trip to the islands and diving.

The monsoon season is characterized by very violent rain and very brief. They usually arrive in late afternoon. The vegetation takes its full shape and lush dense, and the country its green color. The rains swell the Tonle Sap, the largest lake in Southeast Asia. Many rivers become navigable. It's a unique opportunity to visit Cambodia by waterway. But travel is also more difficult because of the mud. On the sea side, stronger winds make the sea agitated. Trips to the islands and water activities are more difficult in this period, even impossible.
